Quezon City 700 SQM
Not your typical house! The fear of the client is that the small lot would result in just a box. Embrace the fear and punctuate it was our slogan for the house. We want to create something sculptural and not common within this posh village. Our execution was… a box!. Eradicating anticipation of a boring, heavy and dark space, the design approach was to have this massive entity float above the ground and is sliced thinly by wooden frames. This allows natural light to penetrate and flood thru the interior spaces.
The user is welcomed inside the volume by another ‘slice-thru’ element, the atrium. A surprise that we would love to experience as this courses thru construction stage. The ambiance is more rustic, enabling a very cozy and boutique feel as you arrive the house from a very stressful day.
Carrying thru and punctuating everything was the introduction of the sculptural staircase, activities flow in and out thru it and is the accent of the whole house. A sculpture framed by a sculpture, one proud work of art!
The main spaces usher an exciting view of the garden giving it a more relaxed ambiance as the user experience the spaces. Hidden gems are discovered as we walk thru this during the construction stage with the client, we can’t wait to see how much potential this has.
